PAW’S WEST WINS BEST THRIFT STORE 2024
On behalf of everyone at the Humane Society of Sedona we want to share a very sincere THANK YOU to our community for your continued support and for voting our very own Paw’s West Thrift Store as the best thrift store in the Sedona Red Rock News’ Sedona’s Best 2024! We are honored by your recognition of Paw’s West and the employees and volunteers who work so hard every day to keep the store fully stocked and running smoothly.
The Humane Society of Sedona’s Paw’s West thrift store is not just a great place to shop, it also provides our community and visitors an opportunity to support local animals in a unique way.
Did you know thrifting at Paw’s West saves lives locally? Every donation and sale at our Paw’s West Thrift Store and our PawPrints Thrift Store in the Village of Oak Creek is turned into direct support providing homeless animals with a vital revenue stream helping us to give the best care and love that go into making a lost, abandoned, scared animal into a healthy adoptable pet. That’s right, support through the Humane Society of Sedona’s Thrift Stores make it possible for us to find homes and care for more than 800 sick, injured and homeless animals every year.
For more than 30 years local thrifting has generated income to support animals. Since the opening of our Paw’s West Thrift Store in 2012 our two thrift stores combined have contributed to a large portion of the annual income needed to continue caring for homeless and hurting animals here in Sedona. The success of our Thrift Stores and support they provide to the animals is built on many years of hard work, creativity and generosity of members of our community.
Our thrift stores rely on volunteers to greet and serve customers, sort, clean and display donated items and so many other important tasks. If you frequently shop or donate at our thrift stores you likely recognize our incredibly dedicated volunteers who make it possible for us to offer such amazing stuff. We are so grateful for our small, but mighty team of 13 volunteers at Paw’s West giving more than 1,000 hours of their time each year working together to support just a few employees. Not to be outdone is our slightly larger volunteer team of 19 at our PawPrints store giving nearly 2,000 hours annually. With all proceeds of the Thrift Store sales going directly to support the animals it is a very important and rewarding volunteer service. Not to mention hanging out with the wonderful Shelter dogs who frequently stop by the stores for a visit! For more information on volunteering at our thrift stores, or other volunteer opportunities with the Humane Society of Sedona visit, HumaneSocietyOfSedona.org/Volunteer. The options are truly endless when it comes to helping animals as a volunteer.
We would love to see you soon at Paw’s West or PawPrints and help you find some great deals on truly fantastic items while supporting animals. We are also here to help you free up your home from those items you no longer want. And, the best part is – you will be helping homeless animals we care for through our programs and services at the Humane Society of Sedona. For hours, locations and information on our Thrift Stores please visit, HumaneSocietyOfSedona.org/Shops.
It is incredibly rewarding to know that our efforts to serve and collaborate in different ways with our community is felt and is making a real difference for people and pets
