Little Bubba was found as a stray in Camp Verde and was so so scared when he arrived at the shelter.
We could tell he had been through some trauma and was pretty guarded during his stay with us. Luckily, a wonderful couple fell in love with this little man, even though he was putting up a tough front! Well, the tough front has melted away and Bubba is pure love!
His new family says he is doing great and has made their house a HOME. They are having so much fun with him. Their grandchildren think he’s the greatest pup around. They are happy and thankful for the opportunity to adopt Bubs making their life so much happier 🥹🥹
It's so important to remember that the animals we serve here are not always their best selves in a shelter environment. Many of them are scared, bored, lonely, or even shut down. We see glimpses of their personalities at the park or on offsite outings, but we really see them blossom when they find HOME! It means the world to us that y'all share their progress and photos. These success stories keep us going 💓🙏

Ray is a very special kitty who needs a very special person to rescue him! 🙏
He is a very shy cat who’s looking for a patient and loving forever home. Ray takes time to trust, but behind his timid nature is a heart full of love just waiting to bloom. He thrives in quiet spaces and needs a calm, understanding family to help him feel safe.
Ray came to us from a hoarding situation and is one of the shyest cats of the group. He spends most of his time hiding in cubby holes and under benches, and he just recently let us finally take his photo so you can see how cute this little freckle nosed boy is.
With time, patience, and kindness, Ray will slowly come out of his shell and reveal his sweet, gentle personality. He loves cozy hiding spots, soft blankets, and quiet companionship. While he may not be a lap cat, Ray will be a loyal and calming presence in any home. He deserves to know what it's like to have a family and feel loved unconditionally. 💓
Ray is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccinations.

Acorn has been a busy boy traveling all around town! 🚗
He recently got to spend the day away from the shelter with one of our volunteers! She took him to her condo came to decompress. After a walk and some playtime, they headed out to some dog friendly places that included the used bookstore at the Sedona Library and Home Depot in Cottonwood.
He was a big hit with all the Home Depot employees, getting treats and his photo taken from people that wanted to let friends know about him!
Acorn is such a wonderful young dog and everyone who meets him instantly has a smile on their face! He is just about 10 months old and has spent most of his life in the shelter (after being rescued from a hoarding situation as a puppy). He is SO ready to be a part of a family! Acorn has a lot of energy and would love someone who can keep him active and entertained. He has had some training from a professional who taught him some basic manners, and they have promised to gift more training to his new family! 🙌
We all love Acorn so much around here and want to see him succeed in life. He didn't experience the best start in this world but has not let that affect his sunshine personality! If you would like to meet Acorn, please call us a set up an appointment! 928-282-4679

Do you all remember Bear?
He spent so many months in our care before finding a family, but he is living the good life now! Bear (now Archie) is so playful and does so well with his guardian's grand-dog who visits often. He loves "helping" with yardwork and never fails to find a branch to carry around 🤣
We love seeing our long timers thriving in their new homes! This family was sure worth the wait 💓

He's handsome, he's a senior, and he's ready to meet you!
🐾 It's Max 🐾 This sweet 10-year-old Akita who has stolen our hearts! 💓
Max is a wonderful older companion who is looking for a family to spend his golden years with! Despite his age, he still enjoys the great outdoors, leisurely strolls, and cozy naps. He’s calm, affectionate, and ready to spend his days by your side. 🐶💤🌅
Because Max experiences some separation anxiety, he would do best in a home where someone is around most of the day. He has lived in a home with other animals and children, but it was a little overstimulating for him, and he would prefer a quieter, more peaceful environment. Max would also prefer to be your one and only dog, soaking up all the love and attention he deserves. 💛
He’s looking for a forever home with someone who understands the special care and devotion a senior dog needs. We cannot say enough good things about this senior gentleman. We know if you meet him, you'll fall in love!
