You haven't forgotten how gloriously amazing our boy, Comet is, have?!
Comet loves nothing more than being with people who love him! Our big pup, Comet loves nothing more than being with people who love him...and that is EVERYONE!
He is such an angel of a dog and we can’t figure out how he hasn’t been scooped!! He's heading towards his TEN MONTH anniversary of being at the shelter, and while we love him very much, this is not a milestone we want to celebrate 😢😢 What's crazy is that he's barely had any meet and greets at all. What is going on out there?!
Comet is super smart - he can sit and shake. He LOVES his butt scratched, and he is just a little clumsy with those long legs of his, which just adds to how lovable he is.
Comet is just over a year old and would do well in a home with a family who will keep his mind stimulated! Maybe some more training? Learn some new tricks?! This cutie pie just loves to please the people in his world, and we think he will make just the best companion.

Looking for a little companion with a big personality!? Meet Oscar!
He's been with us since July and was really struggling in the shelter environment. Luckily a wonderful foster stepped up and has been learning so much about our little guy. Here's what she has to say!
"Oscar is around 3 1/2 years old, housebroken, neutered, current on shots, cute as can be, and a real character. He pulls on leash, but doesn't try to get away, and he's not reactive with people or other dogs on walks. He has been doing some short hikes & loves getting out there. He loves his crate & sleeps quietly there all night. During the day, he uses the dog door to go hang out in the sun, and follows you around the house. He likes nothing better than to nap near his person.
He barks occasionally but not to excess, like some small dogs do. He gets along well with his big-dog foster sister, but doesn't really play with her once she engages. (She's too BIG.) He exhibits lots of healthy doggy etiquette behavior. He does not appear to have separation anxiety. He's very contented in a house - a bit nervous in a car. He was not doing well at the shelter, so we'd love to find his forever home before April, when he'll need to go back to the shelter.
Oscar is a Long Coated Chihuahua (& probably some dachshund) and true to the breed, he is very selective in choosing his human companions. Because he may only warm to one family member, he might do best in a single person household. He may also need a few visits with you before he decides to trust you. But once he does, you'll find his loving nature was truly worth the effort. We're working on some training while he's in foster. He's getting good at sitting and coming to his name. He's very treat-motivated, which helps with training. His confidence is building!"
We're so thankful that Oscar's foster mom is taking so much time to get to understand him! She can give you some pointers on winning this wonderful boy over as your new best bud!
