Voters Choose Humane Society of Sedona as Best Nonprofit!

Thank you for voting the Humane Society of Sedona as the best nonprofit organization in the Sedona Red Rock News’ Sedona’s Best 2023! We are once again honored by your recognition of our tireless efforts to save lost, injured and homeless companion animals in our community. We are truly grateful for the amazing support we receive from our Sedona community and the surrounding areas we have been serving since 1966.

It is incredibly rewarding to know that our efforts to bring life saving and enriching programs and services to our community continues to be successful. Over the past year, thanks to all of our supporters, we made a life-saving and life-changing difference for more than 700 animals who came through our doors, and countless others we were able to help without them ever stepping a paw into the Shelter. We kept people and their pets together through our community support programs by reuniting over 70 lost animals with their worried families, distributing over 1,000 pounds of food and supplies through our pet food pantry, and provided critical life-saving support for urgent veterinary care to pet families who just could not afford to heal their beloved pet.

We care for our community one companion animal at a time and, as a result, we are committed to building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable companion animal has the opportunity to find a life-long loving home. We are dedicated to helping everyone who desires the love of a pet the opportunity to share their life with a companion. We could not accomplish these goals without your continued commitment to the animals, whether as a donor, volunteer, shopper, or adopter.

We are so grateful for our dedicated, caring employees and the more than 300 volunteers who never waiver on their commitment to serve the animals in our community and the people who love them. Our volunteers provide ongoing support to the animals and to our employees in so many ways; by walking dogs, socializing cats, providing foster care for dog and cat moms and their babies, senior animals and sick and injured animals needing extra medical care. Our volunteers also help with adoption and other events, answering phones and greeting guests, transporting animals from other shelters and to Veterinary Clinics, they help sort donations and help shoppers at our thrift stores and they help in so many other ways as well. The options are truly endless when it comes to helping animals as a volunteer.

Your donations help us to provide the best care possible which goes into transforming a lost, abandoned, scared animal into a healthy, adoptable pet. Your purchases at our two local thrift stores Paws West and PawPrints also directly support the animals and our programs that care for them. Our Emergency Medical Fund allows us to give those animals suffering from illnesses or injuries the life-saving care they need. And, of course many of you support our local events such as our upcoming Howl-O-Ween Costume Parade on Sunday, October 15, at Tlaquepaque. For more information on this and all our happenings please visit HumaneSocietyofSedona.org.

We are excited about the possibilities ahead and our continued focus to expand our community outreach, partnerships, programs, and services to connect and keep people and pets together. On behalf of everyone at the Humane Society of Sedona we want to share a very sincere THANK YOU to everyone in our community for your continued support and together, we are creating a more humane community for animals and people.
