Cleopatra and Her 8 Pups Progressing Nicely
By Robert Albrecht
Our little family of Cleopatra and her 8 puppies that were part of a 25-animal rescue from New Mexico, are doing very well. Cleopatra is putting on some weight, which she needed to do; and the puppies are just growing, healthy and energetic, as puppies should be.
The high protein diet of chicken is succeeding in allowing her to get more energy and she is now nursing her puppies. She still has a way to go but she is the most patient, trusting little mom that you would ever want to see. Some of the other dogs that arrived in this group have already found their “forever families” and are happily settling into their new homes.
We wish to thank all of you that have helped with the “chicken” diet and we still are needing this to continue. Either boiled/baked/rotisserie chicken can be brought to the shelter at 2115 Shelby Drive between the hours of 10 a.m.-4 p.m. any day of the week or consider a monetary donation to our “Emergency Medical Fund” that will go to help Cleopatra and all animals that are in need of additional specialized medical/dietary treatment.
We would not be having this success story if it were not for all your love and your assistance in allowing us to provide the best care for our animals. Our reward is taking those “adoption” pictures knowing that another one of our family is joining their new family.
