We are so thrilled to report that we have achieved a ‘No-Kill’ Shelter Status for 2024 -awarded by Best Friend’s Animal Society

*A 90 percent save rate is the nationally recognized benchmark to be considered “no-kill,” factoring that approximately 10 percent of pets who enter shelters have medical or behavioral circumstances that warrant humane euthanasia rather than killing for lack of space.

2022 Shelter Statistics

As of 12/31/22 the Humane Society of Sedona’s 2021 year-to-date Live Release Rate (LRR) is 99.72%, meeting the industry-standard definition of a no-kill shelter. LRR is calculated by dividing Total Live Outcomes by Total Live Intake.
