We are happy to bring a Community Spay & Neuter Program to Sedona and the Verde Valley!
For more than sixty years, the Humane Society of Sedona has been dedicated to serving Sedona and the Verde Valley community. We are proud to further that mission by offering a low-cost spay and neuter program designed to improve the health of pets and reduce unwanted litters in our region.
Spaying and neutering pets saves lives! Altering your pet before maturity (typically between 4–6 months of age) or before a female’s first heat cycle offers important health and behavioral benefits.
-
Spaying helps protect female cats and dogs from serious health risks such as uterine infections, ovarian or uterine cancers, and mammary (breast) cancer. It is also far more cost-effective than treating these conditions later, including emergency procedures like pyometra, C-sections, cancer care, or the expenses associated with raising an unexpected litter of puppies or kittens.
-
Neutering helps protect male cats and dogs from serious health issues, including testicular cancer. It can also positively influence behavior — making pets less likely to mark territory, spray indoors, act aggressively, or roam in search of a mate.
Please Note: Vaccinations & microchipping are only offered during the spay/neuter procedure and are not available to the public otherwise.
(Keep an eye out for our spring and fall public vaccine clinics!)
